Graduate Student Scholarships
The Communication Disorders Foundation of Virginia (CDF) is pleased to offer the David H. Narburgh Scholarship ($2,500) and the CDF Scholarship ($1,000) for the 2008-2009 academic year.
These scholarships are designed to recognize students who have demonstrated ou
tstanding clinical potential. These awards will be granted to current or rising master's degree students in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology enrolled in one of the following universities in Virginia: Hampton University, James Madison University, Longwood University, Old Dominion University, Radford University, or the University of Virginia.
For application requirements and additional information, please contact the program director at your school or Mani Aguilar, CDF Scholarship Committee, at 434.924.4613. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2008.

Henry C. Hecker High School Scholarship
Each spring the Communication Disorders Foundation of Virginia awards the Henry C. Hecker High School Scholarship to a high school senior who is hearing impaired, who has a B average, and who is pursuing education beyond high school (vocational, college, etc.). This award is $1,000.
Qualified students may apply for this award by requesting an application from Janet Stack at jw8n@virginia.edu or downloading the required forms as a Microsoft Word document. Completed applications are due by May 1, 2008. Click here for the High School Scholarship Application.

Elena Jones
University of Virginia 
Elena Jones of Manassas received her B.S. in Communication Disorders from the University of Virginia in May 2007. She continues her graduate work at UVa where she is pursuing her M.S. in the Communication Disorders Program.
Kendall Carwile
Old Dominion University
Kendall Carwile of Virginia Beach received her B.S. in Marketing Management in May 2003 from Virginia Tech and is now in the graduate program at Old Dominion University pursuing her M.S. in the Speech-Language Pathology Program.

Garret Girmus
James Madison High School
Garret Girmus of Vienna graduated from James
Madison High School in June and is now attending the College of William and Mary. He plans to study public policy and pre-law with hopes of going law school after graduation. He is interested in politics and possibly running for public office at some time in the future.
